The Fair Oaks Horticulture Center is an instructional facility designed to educate home gardeners and landscape professionals in the planting and care of ornamental and edible plants.
The Fair Oaks Horticulture Center was established in 1998 as a Sacramento County UC Cooperative Extension project in collaboration with the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District. UCCE Sacramento County Master Gardeners maintain the one-acre center and hold periodic workshops. The Center includes a water-efficient landscape demonstration, an orchard (including fruit bushes), a table grape vineyard, berries (blueberries and cane berries), and a vegetable garden.
The Water Efficient Landscape gardens are open to the public every day throughout the year. The edible landscape area are open only during workshops and open garden days.

At Fair Oaks Horticulture Center workshops the Sacramento County Master Gardeners show how you can plant and care for ornamental and edible plants in environmentally friendly ways. Attend workshop presentations and view interesting displays to learn how you can do this in your own garden. Come to oepn garden days and go at your own pace through the various Horticulture Center areas. Watch demonstrations. Ask us about problems in your garden and we’ll give you answers and advice.
*Workshops last 2 1/2 to 3 hours
*Reservations are not necessary
*Donations accepted
